Waringin Hospitality Hotel Group (WHHG) has proven its commitment to supporting education in Indonesia through implementing the Scholarship Program for Best Trainees since 2018, and has now reached its 10th stage. With the success of the 8th stage of the Scholarship awarding event in the East Java region which was held at Hotel 88 Embong Malang on January 30 2024, and stage 2 in the DKI Jakarta region at Luminor Hotel Kota on February 28 2024, this momentum marks WHHG's commitment to raising the potential of the younger generation in the hotel industry.

Organizing the "Best Trainee Phase 2 & Vocational School Gathering in 2024" has inspired more WH units to support this program in scholarship awards events and subsequent meetings. These units include Luminor Hotel Padjadjaran Bogor, The Village Resort Bogor by WH, Hotel 88 Bekasi, Hotel 88 Jember, Luminor Hotel Jember, Luminor Hotel Banyuwangi, Luminor Hotel Palembang, Hotel 88 Kopo, Hotel 88 Alun-Alun, and Luminor Hotel Metro Indah Bandung.

Strict selection is carried out on potential internship students within the WHHG environment, with scholarships awarded directly by Waringin Hospitality to selected students, witnessed by the school principal, vocational school teachers and parents. According to Lilis Yulianti, as Corporate HRM of Waringin Hospitality Hotel Group, this Scholarship program is not just financial support, but is also a real effort to support hospitality education in Indonesia and provide opportunities for Best Trainees to develop and have a career in this industry.

"The opportunity for developing the WHHG unit is an extraordinary benefit for Best Trainees choosing a place to work. We also hope that through this program vocational school students can achieve their dreams, always excel, and can make the nation proud," said Lilis Yulianti.

WHHG's CSR program with SMK is also an integral part of the company's commitment to improving the quality of education in Indonesia. Assistance with practical equipment for schools that collaborate in Industrial Classes is one form of WH support for technical education in Indonesia. Apart from that, WHHG also gave souvenirs to 15 schools that had collaborated in the On the Job Training Internship program.

Bangkit Wicaksono, HR Corporate Waringin Hospitality Hotel Group, hopes that this activity will not only be a motivation for the participants, but will also provide benefits and new enthusiasm for the Best Trainee recipients. "Our Best Trainee program is designed as a forum for preparing quality human resources for the future, including for the internal needs of the WHHG hotel business network," he said.

In the selection process, WHHG not only looks at aspects of academic achievement, but also the character and leadership potential needed to compete in the world of work, especially in the hospitality sector.
